2018: Sep 26-30     IONA RENEWAL RETREAT

with Jonathan Fox

in the Village Hall, Isle of Iona, Inner hebrides

Wednesday 9.30am to Sunday 5.30pm

In this workshop we will use playback theatre and other action methods to take stock and find new sources of energy and commitment.  We will let the beauty of nature and the history of the island inspire us to examine the seeds of change that guide our lives, what we have achieved, and the challenges that lie ahead. The workshop will be led by Jonathan Fox and will count as supervision for accredited playback theatre trainers.

The journey to and from Iona itself will be an adventure. Coming to Iona you must find your way to Oban, a fishing village on the West coast of Scotland. Trains to Oban run regularly from Glasgow’s Queen Street Station. There are many ways to Glasgow — direct flights from overseas to Glasgow airport or flights from London or other domestic airports in the UK; or coach or train journeys from major cities in the UK and so on.  From Oban you take a big ferry to the Isle of Mull. Then you cross Mull on a bus to another smaller ferry terminal, where you catch a 10 minute ferry ride across to Iona.

To accommodate a variety of budgets, the fee for this workshop does not include accommodation, breakfast or dinner. There are two excellent hotels on Iona, a lovely Youth Hostel (http://www.ionahostel.co.uk), several B&Bs, self-catering hire of homes, and also low cost camping possibilities (http://www.ionacampsite.co.uk) See also http://www.welcometoiona.com
